This is the website of Linda Lindsey, author of non-fiction
as well as short speculative fiction.

I'm currently writing a memoir of my two and a half years working as a female contractor in Iraq, with a working title of "Sand in Their Eyes: Memoir of a Desert Queen". Rather than writing an expose on the corruption, discrimination and harassment I witnessed over there, I decided to focus on how the many relationships I had (lovers, friends and coworkers) changed me and my world. The dirty laundry is still there, man is it still there, but it's in the background.
I finished the first draft during 2007's NaNoWriMo, and after a long break, am currently working on the second draft.
Early in 2008 I was interviewed by local ABC News, Alan Colmes of Fox News Radio, and the NY Times regarding what female contractors face in Iraq. They got my name from Jamie Leigh Jones' law suit. My experiences were nothing like hers, but I did witness a lot of harassment.
I am also working on several short speculative pieces. I don't have any of them polished enough for submission yet, but I expect to have more time for them after the memoir revisions. There are also plans for a fantasy novel about werewolves and religion, and a military science fiction novel focusing on a different type of soldier.
